Our stance on A.I.

AI has taken up a vast quantity of space all over the internet. The organisers of PrideCAF have some strong views about A.I. and as much as we acknowledge it can be a useful tool we also acknowledge the damage it is doing to creative industries across the world. Below are some statements from the organisers that we hope help us be transparent with our community.

PrideCAF Operations

When Google automatically added A.I. into e-mail, Google Docs and other places we made a few decisions. We chose to try and move away from Google as much as we can. Our e-mail was already hosted outside of Google and we made sure that we changed our account preferences to opt-out of A.I. services. Our internal document storage moved away from Google and over to OnlyOffice to help reduce any A.I. influence & leakage. Our sign up forms stayed on Google for the time being but we also intend to move those, there just was not enough time to do so beforehand. We ensure that any content we are sent safe from Exhibitors is not stored on Google.

The organisers of PrideCAF might use AI to help us ensure our documents and e-mails have a good tone and are as understandable as they can be. At no point do we give AI any details about any exhibitor or attendee. When using A.I. we also ensure that we turn off any option that feed back into the algorithm if that is an option available to us. We want to reassure you that any bit or writing that has been through A.I. gets mulltiple humans looking at it and altering it before it goes live.

Our Exhibitors

Our Terms and Conditions state that work using generated content is not allowed in the festival. We do not permit such work at the event and aim to discourage its use in obtaining entry. All exhibitor applications are reviewed manually for any indications of A.I. involvement. If any work is identified as potentially A.I. generated, the organisers reserve the right to request its removal. If necessary, exhibitors may be asked to withdraw their content from the festival.
